It's Political! 100 Years of Women's Suffrage

Ein Fest für die Wahlzelle!

31 October 2018, Kleiner Festsaal of the University of Vienna, 1010 Vienna

The introduction of active and passive women's suffrage in Austria in the fall of 1918 was a milestone in the fight for equal rights for women and men.

This event celebrates women achieving the right to political co-determination 100 years ago and reminds us that there is still no question of comprehensive gender equality today.

The focus of the event is the presentation of the polling booth: an exhibition that tells of the historical connections between the founding of the republic in 1918 and the accompanying introduction of women's suffrage.

The ceremony is organized by the FSP FGG in cooperation with the Faculty of Law, the Gender Research Unit (Referat Genderforschung) and the Gender & Agency Research Network (Gender & Agency Forschungsverbund).
